Benicia Wrestling Association in Partnership with Benicia High School Wrestling is excited to provide this free community event. Promoting the development of high caliber technique from local talent and incubating championship level wrestling in the Bay Area.
This event is free to the public. All participants must complete the waiver and registration form listed below.
There will be opportunities for participants to take pictures during the break and after the final session.
The former 149-pounder for Stanford carried a career record of 74-30, including a 28-8 mark in duals. A three-time Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week, Abas was the 2021 Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year. A 2021 Pac-12 champion, he is now a four-time NCAA qualifier. In 2021 he became just the second freshman NCAA All-American in program history.
The National Wrestling Hall of Famer Jaden Abas of San Diego, California, is a two-time California High School state champion and three-time state finalist for Rancho Bernardo High School.
The son of Gerry and Virginia Abas, he was a Super 32 champion, a two-time Ironman finalist, a Cadet Freestyle finalist and a bronze medalist at the Junior Nationals in 2018.
Abas completed HS with a GPA of 4.10 and went on to wrestle for Stanford University.
His father, Gerry, was the first four-time All-American from California, reaching the NCAA Division I finals three times while capturing three Western Athletic Conference championships for Fresno State.
His uncle, Stephen Abas, a Distinguished Member inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2018, was a three-time national champion and a four-time All-American for Fresno State and an Olympic silver medalist in 2004.
